May 12 – 18 is National Nursing Week: The power of nurses to transform health.
From emergency departments to mental health and wellness, nursing encompasses hundreds of jobs integrated into the daily life of Albertans. Let’s celebrate the nurses in our lives!
Nursing Week is Alberta is also supported by a declaration from the Honourable Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Health. “I appreciate the service and countless contributions nurses have made in our province. It is my honour to declare May 12 to 18, 2025 as Nursing Week in Alberta,” said Minister LaGrange.

- Reward yourself, and become a member of the Alberta Association of Nurses! Advocate for the profession, access benefits and professional resources, and connect with nurses across Alberta.
- Share photos and stories that highlight your role, your team, and your work.
- Take advantage of local deals offered during Nurses Week.
- Decorate your nursing station.
- Celebrate on social media by sharing stories, pictures, and hashtags. (#AANNursingWeek, #ThePowerofNurses NursingWeek2025).
MANAGER / TEAM LEADER
- Organize a breakfast or party for your nursing team.
- Make cards available for nurses to send to their colleagues, highlighting what they appreciate.
