Racism and Discrimination Among Nurses in Canada and the Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Scoping Review

This toolkit:
- Targets various phases of a nursing career and nursing roles including students, new graduates, mid-career, late-career, managers, leaders, executives and, educators and faculty;
- Spans the continuum of care from acute care hospitals to community, public health and long-term care, including both rural and remote settings;
- Compiles current retention strategies that have been implemented across Canada, which will help to foster knowledge transfer of best practices between provinces and territories; and,
- Provides employers, organizations, and health system administrators with a retention framework that includes examples of initiatives to bolster new and already existing retention strategies.

The Alberta Health Professionals for the Environment (AHPE), through the Alberta Environmental Network (AEN) connects Albertans and environmental groups that are dedicated to preserving and protecting Alberta’s environment. As a non-profit and non-partisan organization, the AEN supports collaboration of the environmental community throughout the province. The AEN is a link between the environmental community and government, industry, the media and all Albertans. Their diverse membership of individuals and groups has priorities relating to biodiversity, conservation, air, water, land use and more – but they are unified with the same goal: a healthy and sustainable Alberta.

Choosing Wisely Canada (CWC) is the national voice for reducing unnecessary tests and treatments in Canada. This clinician-led initiative collaborates with national clinical societies and professional associations to develop recommendations on frequently overused tests and treatments that can expose patients to potential harm, consume precious health care resources, and contribute to the climate crisis.
