RPNs, the renewal period for your CRPNA registration opened March 1. Follow the steps below to guide you through the renewal process.

The renewal must be complete by April 30 to avoid a $150 late fee. If the registration is not complete by May 31, the practice permit is suspended.

  • Feel free to copy the information to print and post at work to help your colleagues!

Steps to renew

1.Renew your CRPNA registration

  • Log in to your account at crpna.ab.ca

  • Review and change any of your personal or employment information.

  • Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) declaration that PLI requirements are met for renewal.

  • Enter your practice hours from the previous 12 months.

  • Complete a Continuing Competence Program Practice Enhancement Plan.

  • Pre-Authorized Payment Plan (PAPP) members must complete the online registration renewal process.

  • Pay for the registration.

  • A confirmation email will be sent to your indicated email. If you do not see this email, please contact the CRPNA office.

  • Practicing members can view and print your Practice Permit and tax receipt from your personal member page within 48 hours,providing there are no issues.

2. Purchase or renew AAN membership*

  • Not a member yet? Go to albertanursing.ca and click “Join Now” on the top bar of the screen.

    • *An AAN membership is not mandatory to receive permit registration. A membership is voluntary and supports advancing the nursing profession and Alberta nurses while also providing personal and professional benefits.

  • Enter your CRPNA registration number in your AAN profile.
