Canadian Black Nurses Alliance (CBNA) is an organization that focuses on empowering the Black Canadian nurse. CBNA’s mission is to serve, mentor and empower Canadian Black nurses through the power of community. CBNA follows a two tier approach as it supports the professional practicing nurse and nursing students. As an organization CBNA values include: leadership, equity, education, advocacy and partnerships. There are multiple CBNA academic chapters across the nation and Alberta is the first provincial chapter. CBNA sees the unique experience of the Black Canadian nurse and pays sentiment to their resiliency and excellence in the profession with the slogan, WE SEE YOU! Canadian Black Nurse.

In Alberta, our goal is to carry the mission of CBNA forward, meet the needs of Albertan Black nurses to address areas of concern, and lead as advocates for positive change in this province.

As an organization CBNA welcomes diverse allyship as CBNA is Black focused, but not Black exclusive. Please visit our webpage at www.canadianblacknursesalliance.org and follow CBNA-Alberta’s instagram page @cbna.alberta and @thecbna for more information
